Amaryllis disease question and introduction

Hello,

I'm new to this group. I have been growing primarily Amaryllids and Irids
for several years, most grown from seed. I currently live in Central
California, about half way between Santa Cruz and Monterey. As I have
moved a few times I keep most of my plants in pots.

Last year I noticed some Amaryllis belladonna and Haemanthus sanguineus
leaves emerged with dark blotches and became distorted over time. They
never developed any red spots, but as they are again emerging this fall
with the same markings I am suspecting it is some fungal disease. I've
read a few of the posts on similar issues as well as a hot water treatment
on line. Is there anything that works or do I just need to destroy the
bulbs and get rid of the soil?

Thank you
Randy
