Growing Lilies in Tropical Climates?

This has been discussed before. Ll. formosanum (and philippinense) and L. longiflorum come from subtropical regions. I have seen L. formosanum naturalized (and growing freely from seed) in subtropical countries.

The tropics can be different of course but position in morning sun (and afternoon shade of course) could be worth a try. The Oriental hybrids are also reported to be very tolerant of heat.
