Pamianthe peruviana

My Pamianthe are in bloom in my office, and I just came in (at around
5am) to be greeted with their heavenly scent. If left alone for a
couple of years, they grow more and more horizontally. I had just
repotted them, so they are more upright, since they would fall out of
the pots if I didn't adjust their height. I am hoping for seed, but
last year got none. They make offsets that come off the bulb at an
angle. I will post a picture on the blog.

> I have 3 Pamianthe (~35mm diam/1m long(tall?)) yet to flower) that seem determined to grow as epiphytes at 45% to the horizontal. I thought I had what appeared to be a root growing at right-angles to one of them, only to realise today that it has leaves and is a side shoot. I can find odd images online of some pots with 2 similar sized bulbs, very upright and parallel, but none with clumps, spreading or otherwise. Are side shoots unusual?
