I have had subspecies cretensis against an east-facing wall for several years. It remains evergreen and slowly increases but I have never had it bloom. The only time I tried typical unguicularis it did not survive the winter. If only my southern exposure wasn't the garage door! Tonight's forecasted low is 56°F and Wednesday's is 24°.
