Asparagus

I've always thought that ordinary Asparagus officinalis is an excellent 
ornamental, well worth including in the border with other herbaceous plants 
or shrubs. Its soft yellow autumn colouring is particularly pleasant - not 
to mention the harvest of a few spears in spring.
