I grew L. ocellatum for many years in my garden in Portland.  Full sun, raised bed of sandy loam soil, mulch to keep the soil cool, irrigate once every two weeks in summer, occasional fertilizer.  50+ blooms per stem.  In the photo, the white labels indicated cross-pollination with other western lilies.
