crocus culture

Rimmer's comment on crocus reminded me that yesterday I was digging up what I thought was a mass of Ornithgalum with a few crocus, and to my surprise, it was a mixed mass of mostly Crocus with a few Ornithogalum. There were many small crocus bulbs in there.
This particular area has not been very floriferous for some time, which is probably why I forgot there were crocus in this spot.

Should I sort out the bulbs, replant the larger ones and do something else with the rest? Or are there crocus lines that stop flowering, and so should be removed?

Curious in the garden,

Kathleen
