I can say the knowledge that you have touched someone and passed the
horticulture bug along to someone is very rewarding. I had a nursery many
years ago, one of the things I grew were proteas.  On returning to visit
the area a couple years back a friend told me I should go look a relatively
new nursery in the area.  I did not remember the fellow who ran it, but he
remembered me.  As a teenager he saw some of the Proteaceae I had on
display and he went on to found a nursery very much like the one I had
operated.
