I contacted the photographer of the photo in my link earlier. Interestingly it seems this one occurs over a very large range on both sides of the Mississippi River. Also she mentioned that they started appearing 10 years ago or so and some have suggested they came in on grain ships and spread from the unloading docks down the levee etc. Tim Chapman
