Total arable hectares worldwide:  7.7 billion

USDA report for 2013 projected total GM crop hectares worldwide: 170
million.

That's about 4.5%

The first GM crops were planted in 1986, 170,00 hectares.  In 27 years we
have had a 100 fold  increase and that rate of increase is only
accelerating.

And that is called reality.
