I have never been to New Zealand, but I have heard that term in that usage.
Please don't stop using your terminology as we all can learn from you.

This must be a NZ term.  It means thrown out, got rid of.  I looked it up
and online none of the meanings are what it means here. So won't use it
again. :-(
