repetitive messages

Greetings,
  This baby with the bathwater concern is certainly valid... accidental to-list replies are sometimes the impetus for great conversation. I am not so distressed by "extra" messages on the list, so I'm happy to see reply-to-list remain the default. I don't think, however, there is one best solution for all lists/groups.
