OK Haemanthus experts... I potted several bulbs in January and February, of mostly winter growing Haemanthus species. The plan was to pot them in fast draining medium in larger pots. This is the standard suggestion. Now, I am supposed to wait (if there were leaves at potting time, they must drop) until there are signs of new growth and then to water. No water before. OK, that's just fine, but some of these bulbs are dehydrating in the pots, and have become loose in the medium. NOw its time to start being worried? Should I just let them continue to dry out through the summer until new growth in the fall months? They didn't have much in the way of roots, so they are really going to be subjected to a trial. Or maybe there should be some cautious watering in between times. What to do? What to do? Thanks for your replies. Steve Putman in nasty chilly Delaware.
