If you get to Southern California the Theodore Payne Foundation here in the LA area seasonally carries a variety of 1gal CA native lilies. The online inventory (http://theodorepayne.org/nursery/inventory/) presently shows L. paradalinum and I have previously found L. humboldtii and L. parvum, among others. My gardening experience with these native lilies echoes the others expressed here - they are fickle plants - but out of stubbornness or enthusiasm I haven't given up.
