Hold that thought.

From time to time, when looking up some plant I think I know intimately in
the wiki, I have been tempted to bang my head on my desk

It'll be quicker and less painful to just get a password from David P. and
change the entry ;-)

I know what you mean, but I want to push back a little. I think it is
socially awkward to challenge someone on the mailing list. I've found it to
be socially easy to change an entry in the wiki, especially since it's hard
to tell who made the edits. (If you are really worried, send me your edits
and I'll make them.)

And we're not going to. But as a group we can enforce norms of politeness
and respect for contributors.

Give wiki editing a try. I think you'll find it's easier and more rewarding
than you expect.
