North American species of Hymenocallis, according to Bulbs of North America by NARGS, are in a state of "taxonomic confusion", and possibly the Mexican and West Indian species are also. I suppose any of the many species would be able to grow in Australia. Brad's variegated one has been in Australia a long time.

I've added Brad's photos to the Mystery Bulbs page of the wiki, and hope someone can identify it.
