Meanwhile Britain's only hyacinth bulb fields have burst into bloom just in time.The world's largest collection of rare hyacinths put on a stunning display of colour in a fragrance-filled two-acre field in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Grandfather Alan Shipp, 74, has been custodian of the UK's National Collection of Hyacinths since 1989 and now has more than 200,000 flowering bulbs.

Old House Gardens here in the US  has sold cultivars from his collection.
