I've been buying aril bred irises from the Aril Society International. Since this is a new area for me, I've been relying on on-line images to select them. These on-line images show a surprising variation in color for flowers of the same clone.I have no idea why. Is is soil? Temperature at time of flowering? Age of the individual blossom? Time of day the photo was taken? Other factors? Some of these aril bred irises are very beautiful; a current favorite is 'Byzantine Ruby'.
