A new comprehensive generic arrangement of the ‘Iris sensu latissimo’,clade

An earlier paper that is free online, with some of the same authors proposed the same thing last year; "At Least 23 Genera Instead of One: The Case of Iris L. s.l.
(Iridaceae)." There are numerous supplementary files too.
I guess this is the official publication that splits Iris up! Would love to read it.

Sensu latissimo...isn't that an exhortation to be broad minded when you read what follows? I've just done a quick skim and my head is spinning. We'll have a lot of labels to change! And a lot of attitudes, too. On the other hand, it's good to see old friends such as Iridodyctium back. In this treatment, North America now has no members of the genus Iris.And if we are looking for something to discuss this winter (and maybe for years to come), here it is. Jim McKenney
