I agree with Jim W. that the hardy Lycoris don't like pots, but there 
is one exception, the type of pot. You, in the climate they are used 
to, 4-7(8), can get bloom about every year using a 2 gallon tree pot 
from Stuewe & Sons. These are so tall and slim they will not stand on 
their own. Four fit perfectly in a milk crate. IMPORTANT! They must be 
plunged for winter (which would be pretty deep), or create a mulch 
mound around them (requires a lot of course organic mulch like wood 
chips). Still, this system does work reliably.
