Dear Paul and PBS, I am certain that the form I grow is the most commonly cultivated 'Fukujukai’ . I think this is easily cultivated, large flowered and totally sterile. I’d love to grow the typical species which I assume would be fertile and produce viable seed although it may take two seedlings for full fertility. I jiust checked Far Reaches and they offer no Adonis right now. Alas. The plant seemed very amenable to regular division. Good seed was never set on the form that was in cultivation in the Midwest. I believe that Far Reaches Farm, Port Townsend WA, has unusual forms of Adonis available from time to time. Many thanks and best. Wishing for spring.
