They have all that extra time to settle down. > Plants of Galanthus elwesii var. monostictus Hiemalis Group etc. shipped in the green, in spring, flower in November; bulbs of the same, received in autumn, do not. Some of the monostictus types failed when planted in the garden as bulbs in autumn; there was quite a bit of cold damage to the leaves.
