This is a very obscure question, so I expect Jim McKenney to answer it. I'm translating a monograph on Hippeastrum for our first PBS Occasional Paper, and it mentions that the name may refer to an "estrella del caballero" visible only in the northern hemisphere. I would like to know the official astronomical name of this "knight's star." Can anyone help me? Google couldn't.
