Hippeastrum question

When a geophyte is a true species, then neither self fertility nor self sterility do logically follow. It is rather possible that one individual (cultivar, selection, clone) is self fertile, another self sterile. If we take, for an example both "Chico" and "Reggae" for clones of H.cybister, selected by Fred Meyer, "Chico" did produce seeds after self pollination, whereas "Reggae" never did. Kindest regards from GERMANY.
