Glorious lily propagation

If you are purchasing seed from a reseller you may be getting old seed. I’ve had no problem with seed from Silverhill as well as a few of the wholesalers that supply many seed shops. I just use a basic seed starting mix and just cover them lightly. Nothing special. The seeds were harvested the previous season so don’t need to be planted immediately after harvest. I don’t know if the same applies to Gloriosa but many deciduous species I grow will not sprout the same season they are harvested. It would seem the later the seed pods mature the more likely the seed have a dormant period.
