Good question David, I can't offer info on when they would bloom in their natural habitat, I could only guess that it would be spring / summer. Some of mine are just finished blooming, sending out second scapes and more starting to bloom. This is after spending the summer (our very short summer this year) in my greenhouse, receiving little water. I've certainly not done anything to encourage bloom and am attributing their stint in the greenhouse for the blooms. I belong to a FB Hippeastrum group based out of Australia, everything is bursting into bloom down there. Some are in garden settings, some in pots.
