You never know what will happen when you try to take plants to Burning Man. One year we tried to take a small banana tree. This caused a huge flap at the gate, with the guard telling us that the banana seeds would blow all over and make a banana forest there in the high Nevada desert. My daughter tried to convince him that were it possible for seeds to grow on the Playa, there would already be a marijuana forest. One of our Rangers called ahead and had some official convince the guard that this banana tree had already been approved, which it had not, and we took it in. Aah, my mis-spent youth!
