Yes, deer eat agapanthus here in Victoria B.C. too.  Of course, that is to be expected, as it is a member of the lily family, not an amaryllid.

SANBI reports on South African predation of Agapanthus:  -    Baboons and buck sometimes eat the flower heads just as the first flowers begin to open.
