Seems to rely on the "nominal" USDA zone range for the plants. Seems I cannot grow most of the Trilliums because I am too warm, here, near Oxford.

 Hi,

 Someone wrote to me

"I have developed a database containing
 30.000 species including their
hardiness data which will simply be
mapped and compared to the hardiness
zone the user of this software is at
 and instantly provide results."

 See:

There is a commercial aspect to this
since he is a seed vendor.
