Thanks to the members from BC who commented on this bulb. I know rainfall is lower in the southern Vancouver Island area than on the outer coast. I also saw a comment on the internet that the deer love it. Which may be why it often grows in steep rocky areas. Might give it a try. The dry summer soils I can provide, no problem there.
