I have tried this species a number of times over 40 or so years & only in
my most recent attempt have I had it flower here in Melbourne, Australia.
I was advised to give it plenty of lime over the growing season (a generous
handful for a 200mm diameter pot) & keep it bone dry over winter. Also,
they like to be kept quite congested.
About 2 years after planting out my new purchase & following the above
advice, I was rewarded with a single flower spike!
That was about 3 years ago & unfortunately the last time it flowered for
me, although I have probably neglected it somewhat since achieving this
milestone. I need to reinvigorate the pot to see if I can replicate the
feat!
