Chlidanthus fragrans

Dear All,

Is there anybody out there who knows the secret to persuade Chlidanthus fragrans to flower?
Bulbs are often available from Dutch bulb companies and I succumbed again. Thinking they might behave differently in the open ground (with irrigation) in my new garden in Portugal, they did the same as before as potted plants in Germany. Lots of leaves, no flower. I checked on the Wiki and there it says: shy to flower..... In which kind of habitat does it naturally grow? I assume it is a summer growing bulb but is this really so? Has anybody seen it in the wild?

Thank you very much for any information about this plant,

Bye for today

Uli
