A horticulturist friend and I were discussing the tall group of Dahlia species, often called tree dahlias, last week, and wondering about where to get seeds. I grew Dahlia imperialis, seed from Thompson and Morgan, and lost it during an ice storm in 1985—my own fault, I did not dig the tubers up in November because it was flowering, and in December came the snow and ice. Dahlia campanulata might be a better species to try, flowers earlier in fall, and isn’t as tall. Can anyone on the list recommend a source for seeds?
