Here's a collage of a few Smithiantha hybrids I donated to the BX that 
was just posted.  Smithiantha are related to African violets, but they 
are geophytes, love sunlight, & have a dormant (winter) phase.  For me 
they grow actively from about May through January, and are usually in 
full bloom from September through January.  They are glorious flowers 
with stunning velvety foliage that you can't help but touch!  I hope
