BX and Photo for Europe

Dear All,

Right now I am traveling but I read the emails very carefully. I do not have the time to answer in any length but I will deal with both issues once back home.

The EU seed problem reminds me of a problem we had a few years ago when a regulation came into force which requires the licensing and formal registration of all seed offered commercially within the EU. It aims at large scale agricultural seed producers in order to guarantee constant quality and truth to variety and so on, which is a good thing.
They „forgot“ the small scale seed producers and especially seed sharing initiatives like for example the Austrian based Arche Noah initiative who aims at preserving heirloom varieties of otherwise lost vegetables.
The new regulation was far too expensive for these kind of seed producers and caused quite a stir but was finally solved constructively so that these seeds can still be circulated legally in the EU.
Being a EU citizen I will write letters once home.

More later,

Uli
