Maybe round up would work. I had a well established 4x4ft area of Scilla sibirica under a Maackia amurensis. 2 years ago I tried to dig every bulb. Last year when the population came up, it was reduced by 75%. (No surprise.) I sprayed them once when they showed the first sign of senescing (before they began to turn yellow). I had planned on needing to spray again this year, but none have returned.
