A 1915 book has it as several different species, and Hitchcock makes note of this - that idahoense is so variable it has been called about eight different names. Wlldflowers of the Pacific Northwest by Mark Turner and Phyllis Gustafson has a photo of it - pale blue with darker blue stripes. If you don’t have this book, I can copy the information for you.
