You are correct on the current taxonomic status of this one.  I have pdfs of a lot of pertinent literature on Eucomis and related things, including the revision of Reyneke's key, and I'm happy to share these with anyone who has an interest.  Just reply to me personally and not to the list.  Most of these papers turn up pretty easily via Google Scholar, but if I can save someone the time, just let me know.
