 In the orchid world, humans have helped alba forms and peloric forms survive and prosper in captivity, despite these traits having negative reproductive value in the wild (which obviously explains their rarity).
Ditto for all the fascinating color morphs of snakes, all of which have less natural camouflage than wild types.  Not to mention carp.....
