Woodland companion plants

Hi
Not a bulb, but a spreading biennial apparently. In the current blog of Panayoti Kelaidis Prairiebreak
is a super looking form of Hydrophyllum virginianum. Photos elsewhere on seed lists etc. show a very variable pale pink/white/blue, open face/closed face flower. Would I regret trying this as a woodland bulb companion plant? Seems not unlike our Honesty, Lunnaria annua in colour variation and growth. I do have some Mertensia virginianum, which is a favorite of mine but it disappears rapidly after setting seed.

A very mild winter here so far, and flooded fields not far away; lots of spring bulbs thinking of flowering. Will they regret it later? Lachenalia I have flowering in pots outside have not been grazed off by deer; unlike some dianthus which are now just stubs.
