Saffron in Egypt

That's a good question. I have to assume it is a different strain but even
the Pennsylvania Dutch strain may not require much winter chilling since
that is its growth period. I'm reasonably certain all strains would prefer
a winter night temperature of 40-50 F in Egypt to an occasional 0 F in my
area. And I assume the PA Dutch variety is as summer wet tolerant as they
come since we can have VERY wet years here.
