Jim et al,I would not be surprised to find L.humboldtii growing on the mid-upper flanks of Baja's Picacho del Diablo (10,000+ feet, 80-100 miles South of the border) and possibly the adjoining Parque Nacional Sierra de San Pedro Martir, which supports a chaparral/pine ecosystem not unlike that of the Laguna and Cuyamaca Mountains in California's San Diego County, where I photographed those previously posted.  I have not been there myself, although it has always intrigued me, rising high above the Baja desert ... a sky island, experiencing more moisture and cooler temperatures.
However, I did not find it listed in Thorne, Moran and Minnich's "2010 Vascular Plants of the High Sierra San Pedro Mártir, Baja California, Mexico".  I did not check the individual references listed on the Wikipedia entry, so maybe there is a log of it in one of those documents.

I decided to check the wikipedia entry for this plant and learned something: wikipedia includes Baja California in the range of this plant. Old books took it right down to the southern border of the US, but until today I don't think I've ever seen definite references to Mexican populations.  ...
