New EU seed and bulb exchange

Hello Ake,

Greetings to Sweden! We are almost as far apart as one can be on this continent , you (where?) in Sweden and me at the most south-western tip of Europe in the Algarve in Portugal.
Your question about the distribution of short lived seed/ bulbs is very appropriate and will concern many serious growers. But first of all, there will for sure be two EU-seed and bulb exchanges, the September one is the first and another one will be held in spring. Unlike those exchanges which only take place once a year this will make sure that most seeds and bulbs will be available at their correct planting time. I hope that September is not too late for Sweden?
To be honest, both Martin and myself are a bit nervous about the start of the new scheme, will we be overwhelmed? Will it be a success?
So please give us the time to see how the first exchange works out. We have extra out of schedule exchanges for short lived material in mind but we ask for your understanding that we will not do this at this very moment.

And for our friends in the USA, I think that Robin has clearly pointed out that the „old“ traditional exchanges go on as usual. The frustration in the EU is very high as we can no longer access the US BX/SX. There is some mouth watering stuff on offer right now...... This is why there is the new one for EU members.

Greetings from boiling hot and dry Portugal

Uli
