Growing Eucrosia sp

Like so many South American bulbs, there is so little information available
regarding the natural growing environment for the various species of this
genus and their growing needs under cultivation. I am growing a couple of
species at the moment here in Melbourne, Australia in my unheated
greenhouse where winter temperatures are down to approx 5C. I have
flowered E mirabilis and have near flowering size E aurantiaca (seeds from
PBS) and 2 year old seedlings of a E aurantiaca hybrid. I also have
seedlings of the same age of my own cross of Phaedranassa tunguraguae x
Eucrosia mirabilis. E bicolor doesn't seem to like the cold here
unfortunately.

My primary query is whether plants of the genus should be grown with their
bulbs partly exposed, the neck at the surface of the growing media or fully
buried (if so, what depth)?
