Subject: [pbs] Merwilla plumbea is finally going to bloom

Hi PBS friends,
Attached is a photo of my Merwilla plumbea (syn. Scilla natalensis) that I
purchased at UC Berkley botanic garden in 2013 in a half gallon pot. In the
years since then, in one of my sand plunge beds, it has put out lush
leaves, dying back each winter, but has never bloomed before. I just
noticed this morning this bud about to emerge. Im just so excited I had to
share. Maybe the photo is not so pretty itself, just the anticipation.
