Booksellers, was Bulb and Seed Exchange

 Thanks, Jane, for the little background story behind John Bryan's "Bulbs"I vaguely remember seeing this one long ago - and after reading a few sections, getting the impression that it was a work-over (and not an acknowledged one) of Patrick Synge's "Collins Guide to Bulbs". Synge's work was state-of-the-art when published in the early 1960s, but by the time the Bryan title was published protean nomenclatural changes (among other things)  made the Bryan work suspect to me. In fact, it seemed in some ways an overinflated puff piece.Am I correct in the connection between the Synge work and the Bryan work?   Jim McKenney
