Urginea maritima

I ordered my Giant Squill from Pheonix perennials and was a bit disappointed in it’s size, about 3” diameter.

I had watched the YouTube video of the fellow who grows the giant bulbs in California about the size of a soccer ball and was anticipating something similar.

I am assuming it is the smaller of the two, what is growing from the top now appears to be leaves as they are developing more.

I did get a notice from the website “Easy to Grow Bulbs” that their giant bulbs are back in stock for the same price I paid and I will order from them soon.

I was not able to garner any growing tips from my source at Pheonix perennials, strange because they are a Canadian supplier of Urginea maritima.

Thank you to all who have written here to offer their expertise in warmer climates.

Sincerely,

Louise Boutin
