Urginea maritima - part 2

 Yes, those things are scary.  At the risk of Urginea overload, attached are three pics that give a look at the bloom initiation and early growth.  Day 1: 2 cm.  Day 4: about 8 cm.  Day 7-8: about 30 cm and adding 10-12 cm a day on its way to five feet tall.  At some point, you just back up and get out of its way!
This is obviously the large form in a 2-gal pot.
