I get the images as an attachment at the bottom of each email they are sent in with.
I click and there it is.
Not sure why there is an issue with images.
I use a Mac and Firefox.

If I may my opinion as well:
For what PBS is, at least from my own observations in my 1st year, I think the current format is great! Why? because it is simple and it works (well, except the Yahoo thingy, which is why I switched to use my gmail instead).
For visualisation purposes, I do agree with Tony that Facebook is a better place, it just works better with photos and galleries. Plus, it has the social feature, were discussions can take place.
This being said, I do not think we should switch completely to Facebook, but perhaps we can have a group there where we can easier share our pictures. I happen to have created my group back in February this year and there are 1600 people on it now. It is a nice mix of people who like to share their pictures and sometimes a discussion pop-up, especially on care tips or identifying a certain plant.
And to be honest, since I married and have kids at home, I do not have time for Facebook anymore, except to share some pictures once and then. That's it, you would never see me browsing on it (I always thought it is a waste of time).
Cheers,

I don't have any likes or dislikes about Facebook, but as someone who has been constantly frustrated with images on the current PBS format, I highly endorse a move to Facebook.  Is FB perfect....heck no, but as a member of dozens of FB plant groups, and one who places a very high value on time, it takes no more time or effort than reading current PBS postings, and it is so much more friendly with images, and that's coming from a computer idiot. The opportunities to expand the group are massive on FB, compared to virtually non-existent with the current format. I don't see that we have to like FB to appreciate its much improved functionality and plant community outreach. .  It seems that the question is if the group wants to grow or stay small and exclusive.  Here are a few examples of groups I follow and the number of members in each.

Opuntia group - 8,200 members
Oxalis group - 3,800 members
Lycoris & Nerine - 1,100 members
Tigridia group - 4,900 members
Amaryllidaceae - 1,600 members
Crinum group - 1,100 members

I second that.  I don't do any social media and don't plan to start now.
The care and feeding of these things takes a lot of time and effort and our volunteers are already doing enough for us.  More than enough actually.
I agree that in most cases if the subject line is done right, we can blow off the messages that don't interest us.  Many of us have particular special interests and it's easy enough to screen for the truly useful postings if the subject line is done right.  Perhaps it would also be useful to ask posters to add "Photo" to the subject line if photos are attached.  As a relative rookie, I might well open these because after I see really cool pics I might develop an interest in something I hadn't previously thought about.  It has certainly happened already!

I will never join Facebook.  I simply don't like it.  I much prefer the PBS
