Dear all

To Tim's question below:
From: Tim Eck <timeck17582@gmail.com>
To: Pacific Bulb Society <pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net>

What is the largest bulb the BX will accept?
Thanks
Tim

This was the decision made by the board

5. The following* bulbs, rhizomes, tubers, etc.* will not be allowed in
the BSX:

Bulbs weighing more than 7 ounces (200 grams) *each*

Bulbs with emerged leaves more than 1 inch (2 1/2 - 3 cm)

Bulbs of cultivars commonly available from mass market commercial sources
(and which

may be covered by Trademarks, Growers’ Rights or Plant Patents - sometimes
noted as

PP or PPAF).

Hopefully after this last exchange I can take the time to publish the
entire document of the Exchange for PBS, where some of these details exist.

Our shipping materials include a box that is 4 x 4 x 4 and that is the
largest size bulbs I have shipped , and earlier in the spring we had a
multitude of hippeastrum bulbs that were about 3-3.5 in in size. But larger
than that is too large, please try to exchange person-to-person.

I have accepted bulbs outside of these descriptions, but close to them.
During the warmer months I can accommodate anything, during the winter, not
so much, as conditions are more extreme.

I hope this helps.

Luminita Vollmer,
PBS Exchange Mgr
